Smart Socket 3.0 Astronomical Timer Setup Guide

Adding a Sunrise/Sunset Automation Timer to the Smart Socket 3.0

Sunrise/Sunset Automations allow you to turn devices on when the sun goes down and off when the sun rises. The Brilliance Smart App uses the location of the Smart Socket 3.0 to determine sunrise and sunset times.

Steps to Set Up

  1. Download the Brilliance Smart App
    • Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
    • Scan the QR code and register for an account if you are a first-time user.
  2. Open the Brilliance Smart App and select the Smart Socket 3.0 to add a sunrise/sunset automation timer.
  3. Tap Timer in the bottom panel.
  4. At the top of the Schedule screen, select the Astronomical tab.
  5. To create an astronomical timer, tap Sunrise.

Setting Up an Astronomical Timer for Sunrise (OFF)

  1. The Before option is selected by default.
    • You can set the timer up to 4 hours and 59 minutes before or after sunrise.
    • Example: Setting the timer to turn off devices 5 minutes before sunrise on weekdays.
  2. Tap 1 m, then scroll up to select 5 m.
  3. All days are selected by default. Tap the circles for Sunday (S) and Saturday (S) to remove them from the schedule.
  4. Tap ON to open the Switch 1 panel and change the action. Scroll up to select OFF, then tap Confirm.
  5. Ensure all changes look correct, then tap Save in the upper-right corner.
  6. The automation is now set. To turn the automation on or off, tap the Sunrise toggle.

Setting Up an Astronomical Timer for Sunset (ON)

  1. To create an astronomical timer, tap Sunset.
  2. The Before option is selected by default. Tap Before, then scroll up to select After.
  3. Tap 0 h, then scroll up to select 1 h.
  • You can set the timer up to 4 hours and 59 minutes before or after sunset.
  • Example: Setting the timer to turn on devices 1 hour after sunset on weekdays.
  1. All days are selected by default. Tap the circles for Sunday (S) and Saturday (S) to remove them from the schedule.
  2. Ensure Switch 1 is set to ON, then tap Save in the upper-right corner.

Confirming Location for Astronomical Timing

  1. Tap Location to confirm or reposition your device’s location.
  2. Tap the Location symbol to refresh the device’s location, then tap Save.
  3. Astronomical Timing setup is complete. Tap the Back arrow to return to the device screen.
  4. Tap the Back arrow again to return to the home screen.
